Finish What You Have Started

March 14th, 2014 || Philosophy

Most of the greatest inventions of our time did not start by the inventors, but it was first started by the geniuses of the medieval times who could not finish or bring their work to a close. People who came after them, and who were ambitious enough, picked up their works, studied it, and worked on it until those finished works were achieved.

This is what Isaac Newton said about his inventions:

If I have seen further (than certain other men) it is by

Standing upon the shoulders of giants.

Look into the annals of inventors, and you will never find the starters of those inventions, only those who brought it to light, are recognized. Alexander Graham Bell……Inventor of telephone,Thomas Edison…..Inventor of light bulb, Nikola Tesla……inventor of alternating current, Michael Faraday…..Inventor of electric motor and many more, all gave hints of ‘’standing on shoulders of giants’’.

There are great multitudes     of people on this terrestrial ball who are fond of leaving their projects either partly or wholly undone. They start a project with fun and pageantry, they’re full of energy and zeal, and within some days,  they begin to lose steam or burn out.They either get frustrated or they lose interest completely. All their lives they have never finished a project.

How  To  Stop  Unfinished  Projects  Ruining  Your  Life

As an infinity thinker, you must not rest until you find right solutions to your problems.Infinity thinkers sniff for solutions by asking right questions, observing life, learning from history and studying the issues at hand. Infinity thinkers, must adhere to these solutions bellow if they are to escape from this unfinished project syndrome:

-Stop  Following  The  Crowd:

There is this statement that says that if everybody is doing it then it must be good and true. This statement cannot be accepted by infinity thinkers. Infinity thinkers believe that when you follow the crowd you will get consumed by it.When you start a project don’t go into a territories that have been crowded by so many people. The risk here is that you will go into that fields with people who are already established and have far more resources than you, and I bet you they will crush you out of the project. So find your niche in a small and uncrowded fields and operate there.

-Develop  Shock  Absorber:

The world is changing so fast.Research has it that, every blessed day thousands of new ideas, new technology and new methods of doing things are churned out. If you’re not careful, all your plans or project will be thrown out of gear just because the ‘environment’ changed. Infinity thinkers develops high emotional strength and they don’t allow things to take them by surprise, and even if things don’t go well, they start again like Thomas Edison, who failed several times when inventing the electric bulb and yet never gave up.

-Believe  In  Your  Dream:

Great are the men who believe in the beauty of their dreams. You will never go very far and be what you want to be if you do not believe in your goals or your dreams. Christopher Columbus had no experience in voyages and navigation; never captained a ship and yet he told his bank rollers he should be called the Grand Admiral of the Ocean because he will find a new route to India. When there was all indication pointing at him during the voyage to the discovery of America that he had failed and the culmination of some ship loses, he never gave up. Christopher, he believed in his dreams of a discovery. As infinity thinkers, we must follow such paths and hold on and believe in our cherish dreams despite setbacks.

-Be  Passionate  About  Your  Projects:

Running a goal can be very exciting when things are falling into places. But when the going gets tough and all the plans, visions and projects seem to be dragging its feet  you get confused and wonder the usefulness of your project. You’ve tried all solutions and it’s not working, then you need one thing to move this goals forward and that is PASSION. Passion is the energy that propels you in your life when you don’t see any light at the end of the tunnel. Before you start any project, notably, like writing a book, learning how to speak in public, learning a new language or starting a new business; check to make sure you are passionate about it or you love what you’re about to do. All the geniuses of our time like Winston Churchill, Mahatma Gandhi, Bill Gates and so forth, all had passion for what they did.

Put  Time  Limits  On  Your  Projects:

According to a 5th century BC Chinese war General, Sun Tzu said:

When you engage in actual fighting,if victory is long in coming,

then men’s weapons will grow dull and their ardor(zeal) will be damped.

This is a clear advice that we should put time limits on our projects. Knowing when to start your project and when it ends, is VERY important in achieving them. Infinity thinkers don’t waste time. They work within time frame because they know the more the time prolongs there more they lose money and opportunities.Frankfurt,Germany’s new airport Terminal was initially budgeted to be 2.4 billion Euros, due to several factors delaying the project the cost has now risen to over 3 billion Euros. Time factor should be checked and put into considerations to avoid frustrations on the way.

NOTE: Sometimes we feel, and is the truth, that the projects we are pursuing are no longer important to us or no longer profitable. You might have experience some of these setbacks many times already. And some of these chief reasons are that you did not do your due diligence correctly before you started. As infinity thinkers, we do think far and wide, and always has the end in mind. Infinity thinkers do not start a project and ends it because it’s no longer profitable or lost interest. But infinity thinkers are mindful of their time and monetary resources. Simply they do not allow their resources to go down the drain.

First off I want to say wonderful blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to
ask if you don’t mind. I was curious to find out how you
center yourself and clear your mind prior to
writing. I’ve had difficulty clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out.
I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are lost just
trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or hints?
    Thanks!
