They should have invested the money and then spent only the interest.

Gambling and betting has caused so much havoc to noble individuals who wished they could had lived a peaceful and a better life whilest they go about their simple daily lives. People’s reputation have been tainted, and some had lost their peace of mind, and to others, it has brought untold sufferings, hardships and the destruction of families, all as a result of gambling. I would love we have a few illustrations about some real life experience about the cost of these involvement of what I call the strong penchant for free money.

During the olden days a man called Stillborn, that wise ambassador, whose mission took him to Corinth. This official was sent to Sparta to sign a treaty of alliance. But when he arrived there, he realized that there were no men of standing and probity, but nobles who were gambling. He was so sad that he left Corinth saying, “I will not lose my reputation or compromise the honor of my nation, by negotiating with gamblers. I would rather die than forge an alliance with gamblers”
There is also another case in relation to King Demetrius. The King of Parthia sent him a pair of golden dice in scorn that he will not have any track with people who indulge in gambling.
These historical counts clearly gives as a feel of how noble kings and the olden people treated the issues of gambling.
Let get in detail some real life experiences with people who really got themselves into some real shit with gambling, betting or lottery.

 Callie  Rogers

The teenager girl who spent all her money on cloths, parties’ etc.Callie Rogers was once the world’s luckiest teenager. At the tender age of 16, Miss Rogers won $1.9 million lottery. At the time, this money will be valued today as $3million.Now it is all gone. The luckiest girl spent all her winnings on vacations, homes, shopping, friends and even couple of BREAST improvements. After six years of her winning the lottery, Callie Rogers attempted two suicides. At age 22 she became a single mother of two. She now works as a maid to sustain herself and her family. She is paying off her debt induced by her spending.

Janite  Lee

The Missourian who gave a way her money to politics, education and the community and ended up nothing left. Sometimes, even good intention can get wildly out of hand-as was the case for Janite Lee, the 52 years old woman, who landed $18MILLION pay out from Missouri lottery back in 1993.The South Korea immigrant immediately began to contribute chunks of her money to various educational programmes, community services and political organisations. Besides the million-dollar house and cars, Lee reportedly donated more than $ 1million to Washington University, where her name sake reading room commemorates occasion. She was reported to have donated $277,000 to Democratic political candidates, earning herself meals with the then President Bill Clinton, AL gore and even the then Korean President. She didn’t stop there. $30,000 went to the family of a South Korean church pastor who passed away. The St Louis Korean American Association received a house from her. Another Korean adoption-related association also benefited. Lee’s Philanthropy was extremely expensive. But combined it with her gambling habit, lost $347,000 in a single day. Bank loans and credit debts was choking her throat. She filed bankruptcy in 2001.

Jack  Whittaker

The once biggest lottery winner who lost $114million in four years. On December 25, 2002, west Virginia Building Contractor Andrew Jackson. “Jack” Whittaker Jr. won $ 315million in power ball multi-state lottery, at the time the largest Jack pot in history won by a single person. At the time he was the president of a successful construction firm called Diversified Enterprises construction. This 55 years old Whittaker was living successfully comfortable American life complete with a net worth over seventeen million dollars, a well-rounded family, great job and healthy grand kids. After winning the prize, he famously pledged 10% of his winnings to various CHRISTIAN charities and he used 14 million dollars to create the Jack Whittaker foundation. On August 5, 2003, less than a year after winning the lottery, thieves broke into Whittaker’s car while it was parked at a strip club in Cross Lanes, West Virginia. The thieves made away with $545,000 in cash that Whittaker carried around in a suitcase. When asked why he would carry that much money around with him Whittaker responded “because I can”. In another incident, two employees at the club, the general manager and a dancer-manager who were romantically linked, were arrested and charged with a plot to put drugs in Whittaker’s drinks and then rob him. On January 25, 2004, thieves once again broke into his car, this time making off with an estimated $200,000 in cash, but this was later recovered. On September 17, 2003, Jesse Tribble, an 18-year-old on-and-off-again boyfriend of Whittaker’s granddaughter Brandi Bragg, was found dead in Whittaker’s home in Teays Valley, West Virginia,. A coroner’s report indicated that he had died from overdosing on a combination of oxycodone, methadone, meperidine, and cocaine. On December 20, 2004, Brandi Bragg, 17, was found dead on the property of a male friend after being reported missing on December 9. Her body was wrapped inside a plastic tarpaulin and dumped behind a junked van. No one was charged with a crime and the death was ruled an overdose.
At an October 11, 2005 hearing related to his January 2003 DUI, a visibly shaken Whittaker lashed out at local law enforcement agencies for focusing on his troubles while failing to arrest anyone in relation to his granddaughter’s death,”Go after whoever killed my granddaughter with as much zealous as these butt holes are trying to convict me of something I didn’t do”Whittaker was later sued by Caesars Atlantic City casino for bouncing $1.5 million worth of checks to cover gambling losses. Whittaker also counter sued, claiming that his losses were supposed to be credited due to a slot machine he developed and that they in fact owed him money. On January 11, 2007, a legal complaint against Whittaker alleged he claimed that on September 11, 2006, thieves took all of his money. The thieves, according to the account, went to 12 branches of the City National Bank and cashed 12 checks. The incident came to light because Whittaker had not been paying money to a woman who had previously sued him. Kitti French filed the complaint earlier in the week, requesting court costs and money from Whittaker. On July 5, 2009, Ginger Whittaker Bragg, Whittaker’s 42 year old daughter and the mother of Brandi Bragg, was found dead in Daniels, West Virginia. No explanation was given but officials did not expect foul play.

What  Should  They  Have  Done

They should have invested the money and then spent only the interest. But most gamblers don’t know this, and even if they do, they wouldn’t listen. FREE money wouldn’t allow them. Every money you acquire takes on your character. Enduring and thrift character means your money won’t be spent on unnecessaries.

The  Reasons  Why  Gambling  May  Not  Be  The  Right  Way  To Your  Financial  Freedom

Many people have pin their hopes that someday, they too will win a jack pot or gambling like JACK  WHITTAKER, JANITE LEE and CALLIE ROGERS and then enjoy the booty. Research has shown that 95% of all rich men don’t or never plays gambling/betting .The 5% who plays gambling plays it occasionally, when they visit the casino with their friends. This should tell us that life in itself cannot be really lived by Gambling. INFINITY THINKERS do not bang their hope on chances, but by plan. They use their passion and talents, strategize and then work on it until they become a success. This rendition is to help you be aware of some basic facts concerning winning lotteries or engaging in gambling, and its capacity to create certain personal problems. Let check a few of them below:

It  Creates  An  Atmosphere  Of  Envy  And  Enmity

Just recently, my childhood friend I have not seen for twenty years had himself poisoned and got killed, just because he always wins when he engaged his circles in gambling and betting. Apart from politics if you really wants to know where envy show itself in naked, then it is in gambling and betting. There have been several cases where families who were living happily, had their relationship destroyed because easy money came in. There were litigations here and there concerning families as to how properties should be shared. This clearly also demonstrate how envy could cause someone to hate Jack Whittaker so much, of which two employees at the club, the general manager and a dancer-manager who were romantically linked, were arrested and charged with a plot to put drugs in Whittaker’s drinks and then rob him or even thieves following him every where.

Gamblers  Are  Normally  Intemperate

Just try and observe this, and you will see that most Gamblers indirectly cultivate the habit of bad temper. They are always of full of anger. I have observed in several places where most of these guys have landed themselves in a big shit. A lot of people have lost their jobs, some are languishing in jails, some had lost valuable contract, and some had destroyed a very beautiful relationship all because of anger they got from gambling. If you really want to know where anger is in full display, then try gambling.

Gambling  And  Betting  Create  The  Breeding  Ground  For  Unnecessary  Mockery

A few years back, my immediate former company employed some Chinese expatriate. These Chinese guys were numbering about ten. The Entertainment there at the time was abysmally inadequate. So they passed the time by engaging in Gambling and betting. It was on one occasion when these Chinese were on their gambling ‘spree’ .One had a lucky day and was winning here and there. From nowhere the wife of the guy who was winning started mocking this loser. It became a fight, a fight that nearly caused the Loser guy to commit suicide, for he wanted to climb up high tension pole so he could die. All was because of the mocking atmosphere that characterized the scene and he felt ashamed of his lost.

It  Makes  You  Go  Broke

Gambling has been the cause of many penniless in people’s lives. Gambling is In fact the cause of many people going into a hard core poverty or getting broke. This attitude has led untold number of people in engaging in robbery in various degrees and other dangerous ills.

Psychological  Effects

There have been several cases reported of people engaging in gambling are in serious addictions. A huge Heartbreak and disappointment set in when one loses beyond the normalcy. According to Wikipedia encyclopaedia, in order to be diagnosed, an individual must have at least five of the following symptoms:
1. Preoccupation. The subject has frequent thoughts about gambling experiences, whether past, future, or fantasy.
2. Tolerance. As with drug tolerance, the subject requires larger or more frequent wagers to experience the same “rush”.
3. Withdrawal. Restlessness or irritability associated with attempts to cease or reduce gambling.
4. Escape. The subject gambles to improve mood or escape problems.
5. Chasing. The subject tries to win back gambling losses with more gambling.
6. Lying. The subject tries to hide the extent of his or her gambling by lying to family, friends, or therapists.
7. Loss of control. The person has unsuccessfully attempted to reduce gambling.
8. Illegal acts. The person has broken the law in order to obtain gambling money or recover gambling losses. This may include acts of theft, embezzlement, fraud, or forgery.
9. Risked significant relationship. The person gambles despite risking or losing a relationship, job, or other significant opportunity.
10. Bailout. The person turns to family, friends, or another third party for financial assistance as a result of gambling.

Leads  To  False  Hopes

The gambler’s fallacy is the false belief that a win in a game of pure chance is “due” after a string of losses. While it is logically correct to say that more trials of a probabilistic event increase the likelihood of the event occurring at least once, earlier games are independent of and have no influence over subsequent games. If you want to know where this fallacy is in full display, it is in the atmosphere of gambling. Gambling and betting rises your hopes and then strike it down, if you don’t win. If someone can feel some hopelessness at some point in time of his or her life then one of the major causes may be gambling.
A 2010 Australian hospital study found that 17% of suicidal patients admitted to the Alfred Hospital’s emergency department were problem gamblers.

Waste  Of  Time  And  Money

In the United States, gamblers lost a staggering $119 billion in 2013 alone, more money than Bill Gates has (with $72 billion) and Warren Buffet (with $58 billion)
Gamblers spends so many hours gambling. Many good hours are spent unnecessarily. One can use it judiciously to earn good income. Research has shown that gamblers may spend 10 to 20 hours or more a week gambling.

All what I’m trying to drive home at is that gambling is not the right way to make money. You need the right attitude, vision, the right strategy and the right niche. With gamblers, wealth creation is absolutely absent which makes it difficult for them to replicate the wealth they have acquired. Being thrifty is absolutely absent. For no rich man ever gives away his wealth as gamblers do. This is how your philosophy should be, earn like a king of Arabia and spend like a pauper.

You really make it seem really easy together with your presentation however I find this topic to be actually one thing that I believe I might by no means understand. It seems too complex and very broad for me. I’m looking forward on your next submit, I will try to get the grasp of it!
